
Julian Marshall is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at University of Minnesota. Marshall currently holds a McKnight Land-Grant Professorship. He is a Resident Fellow of the Institute on the Environment, and in 2009 won the Minnesota Young Civil Engineer of the Year award.
Marshall received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University, and his Masters and PhD from the Energy and Resources Group at University of California Berkeley.
In addition to his faculty appointment in Civil Engineering, he is also an affiliated member of School of Environmental Health at University of British Columbia, and, at University of Minnesota, the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning, and Environmental Health Sciences. Marshall is a member of the Minnesota Population Center and a Faculty Scholar in the Center for Transportation Studies at UMN.
Marshall chairs the CE scholarship committee (click here for information). He is the faculty advisor for the UMN chapter of Engineers Without Borders, a group of students working to improve conditions in disadvantaged communities worldwide.
